Book Recommendations"Take my instruction and not silver, and knowledge rather than choicest gold. For wisdom is better than jewels; and all desirable things cannot compare with her." Prov 8:10-11 The books within this list have been helpful to me in the art of living. I have thoroughly read or have simply gained some knowledge, which I consider precious and "better than choicest gold" from each of the books listed. My learning and reading from these books spans nearly a twenty year period and as such they are a personal record of growth and development. In short, recommend them because I have found their perceptions to be reliable; and though I can't claim that every statement in every book on my list is true, I can claim there are priceless principles within each and every book listed. So, as a student of books I freely pass on to you what was freely given to me. And as a friend, I hope you find immeasurable treasure too! "Good books are good friends, the wisest and wittiest nearly all of us can hope to meet, and I never put one down without a feeling of quiet exultation that I have been lifted out of myself because of it: more informed, more perceptive and understanding, more articulate, and thus able to contribute more to my family, friends and society." ~George Waller (Recommendations are listed alphabetically, by category; some books are found in more than one category.)
"Without books, God is silent, justice dormant, natural science at a standstill, philosophy lame, letters dumb, and all things in Cimmerian darkness." ~Thomas Bartholin, 1616 - 1680, Danish physician, mathematician, naturalist & theologian (credited with discovering the Lymphatic System)
