Freedom with Subject

Freedom with subject describes
the accessibility of a subject;
how easy or difficult it is to capture that subject.
Digital photography increases the accessibility of a subject and hence the
freedom one has with it. The reasons for this are that digital cameras' storage
capacities (memories) are large and relatively little amount of energy is
required to actually take a digital photo.
The challenge with a digital
camera is finding and selecting subjects and good compositions. Much of
the challenge of digital photography is simply going and getting to places which
have great subjects. Once you find the right subject, then choosing a composition and pressing the button are virtually all that are
required.
Therefore, it can be
said that a digital camera helps one to have freedom with subject. Yet as
with other freedoms this should not be abused.
The fact that it takes very
little
energy to execute a digital photo does not mean one should not put a
lot of care and attention into what one is photographing. Likewise, the fact that one can take lots of photos because
the memory of the camera is large does not mean one should take lots of
photos. The mark of a good
digital photographer is not one who takes lots of photos, rather it is one who can capture a
great composition
with few
attempts.
