Why Trees are a Perfect [Art] SubjectTrees are one of my favorite subjects because they are beautiful and one of the most important & influential creatures on this planet. They are one of our invaluable and essential resources. This combination of beauty, practicality & importance draws me near to them. What is more practical than a tree? It cleans our air; it gives us oxygen; forms for us endless products & goods; shades us in the summer & frees light in the winter. What is more important? They are to our survival and the health of the earth. What is so beautiful that it holds the interest of children and adults alike. Even teens can connect with trees. Well, of course, nature is overflowing with perfect beauty. Trees are a microcosm to the endless beauty and variety of nature. The variety of trees is amazing - I suspect that most of us don't experience even a tenth of there variety. As with all nature, the beauty of trees do not fade away. Trees are a type of timeless archetype. They represent patience; long suffering; and eternal life. Every generation of people have had the good fortune of knowing the beauty and fruit of trees. As with all masterpieces, the beauty of a tree does not dull over repeated viewings. On the contrary, the more we look the more we discover and enjoy. A tree is a perfect subject because of these things and much more. They represent and teach us about life; they give us essential nutrients and show us beauty and joy constantly. They are a gift from above.
